Shauna creates contemporary jewellery using both precious and non precious materials.

Her work investigates the importance and value of objects in individual's lives such as photographs, jewellery, sentimental and personal items.

Shauna says of her work : "The items I make are of high quality materials and manufacturing using traditional craftsman techniques insuring stability, durability and a long life of wear and tear.

Each piece therefore becomes an artistic, one of a kind collector's item. My items also have an intellectual narrative telling a's not just a bauble to adorn."

Objects that are loved and cherished tell a story. They capture a sliver of the past; they transport us into a moment in time. Objects speak of loss, remembered loved ones, joyful moments and special intimacies between people giving us identity and shaping our lives. They are the currency of our emotions; heirlooms, keepsakes, faded photographs; mementos from old friends. They are the narrative of our existence.

Mayben Designs has created a range of wearable jewellery that includes but is not limited to necklaces, earrings, cufflinks and brooches made from 100% recycled, upcycled and pre-existing materials.

"We are surrounded by things, we are involved with them. We speak to things and things speak to us. To say we are independent is banal. Let us be courageous, let's admit it......we are lovers."
Salman Akhtar, Objects of Our Desire 2005.
